I love good desserts. My friend Sidney from Stove Restaurant in Port Norfolk taught a class not long ago. I've taken off with desserts since then. I take a lot of pleasure in creating each sweet we serve, which are lovingly created from scratch.
Today I made peach cobbler with a sugar dough. I put in a little lemon juice to brighten the flavor and a pinch of black pepper for a spicy undernote, finishing with a splash of Grand Marnier, the orange liqueur.
Our other desserts this weekend include:
Bread pudding made with Krispie Kreme donuts and plantains
Lemon chess pie
White chocolate cheesecake
Granny Smith Apple pie
Bourbon pecan pie
Ghirardelli brownies
Here’s to making food fun,
Alan
